У статті використано дані з 75 країн за 1960–2010 роки для аналізу того, чи має іноземна допомога вплив на нерівність споживання. Змінна допомоги представлена через гранти і позики (при цьому основною гіпотезою є те, що гранти і позики справляють різний нелінійний вплив на нерівність), де вплив позик відображається на графіку опуклою кривою, а грантів – увігнутою кривою. Результати підтверджують напрямок і тип впливу, який має іноземна допомога на нерівність. Крім того, результати для квартильних підмножин даних демонструють залежність взаємозв’язку між іноземною допомогою та нерівністю від ВВП країни на душу населення. Водночас гіпотеза щодо впливу державного перевороту не була підтверджена.
